Every number on this site, and where we got it.
This is the only page that makes the rest of the site mean anything. Anyone can print “transparent” on an about page. The checkable version is a list with links on it, including the parts we have not finished.
Refusal rates
Who publishes the odds
Four of the five governments we work with publish enough for a rate to be quoted for Nepal. New Zealand does not, and we say so on its page rather than filling the gap with something reassuring.
United Kingdom
16% refused, early 2025
Canada
52% refused, 2024
Australia
64% refused, 2025-26
United States
81% refused, FY 2025
Exchange rates
Nepal Rastra Bank
Every rupee figure on this site is a foreign amount multiplied by the central bank’s published selling rate, fetched from the bank’s own API and refreshed hourly. The publication date is printed beside every total. NRB does not publish on holidays, so the newest available rate in the last week is used, which is also what a bank counter would quote you.
NRB does not quote the New Zealand dollar. New Zealand figures are converted at the Australian rate and are marked indicative on that page.

19 figures we have not yet confirmed
Informed estimates, marked est wherever they appear on the site. They are listed here because a list of what we have not checked is worth more than a claim that we checked everything.

If we are wrong
Tell us, and we will change it and say that we did.
These figures move. A visa fee changes, a financial requirement is raised, a refusal rate is republished. If you find something on this site that is out of date or plainly wrong, ring the office or send it to us. Corrections are the point of publishing sources at all.
